Description

This one pan skillet lasagna dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • 1 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 8 uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large cast iron or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions and garlic, and cook until the onions are softened.
  3. Add ground beef and break apart. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and water. Bring to a low simmer and add lasagna noodles. Mix to submerge the noodles.
  5. Cover and continue simmering on low for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked.
  6. Mix in Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. Dollop the ricotta cheese on top.
  7. Cover and simmer for an additional 2 minutes, until the cheese is warmed.
  8. Garnish with chopped basil and enjoy!

Notes

  • Sausage can be substituted for ground beef.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
